Mahisagar District is an administrative district in the state of Gujarat, India.Key Details:

• Formation: It came into existence on January 26, 2013, becoming the 28th district of Gujarat. It was carved out of parts of the Panchmahal and Kheda districts.

• Name Origin: The district is named after the Mahi River, which flows through the region.

• Headquarters: Lunawada is the administrative headquarters of the district.

  • Total Area: Approximately 2,261 sq. km

  • Population: Around 994,624 people (as per the 2011 Census)
